‘자동응창 시리즈’는 르네상스 음악에 대한 개인적 관심으로부터 출발하여 해당 시대 악기를 현대 악기로 번역하는 과정을 다룬다. 이때 역사적 맥락을 의도적으로 탈각시킴으로써 원본의 구조 및 연주 관습을 과거를 지시하지 않는 기능적 요소로 재배치하되, 르네상스 악기의 구조 및 특성은 고정된 요구로서 작동하고 현대 악기는 자신의 조건 안에서 이를 수용하도록 구성된다. 이러한 번역 과정에서 발생하는 불일치는 특별하게 취급되지 않으며 다른 음악적 구성들과 등가의 재료로 다뤄진다. “자동응창-오르간기계”는 시리즈의 두 번째 작품으로서 르네상스 오르간을 원본 매체로, 현대 바이올린(및 전자음향)을 결과물 매체로 삼는다.

The ‘autoantiphon series’ originates from a personal interest in Renaissance music and addresses the process of translating period instruments into modern ones. In doing so, historical context is deliberately stripped away, repositioning the structural properties and performance conventions of the original as functional elements that carry no reference to the past; the structure and characteristics of the Renaissance instrument operate as fixed demands, while the modern instrument is configured to accommodate them within its own conditions. Mismatches that arise in this translation are not treated as exceptional but handled as compositional material on par with any other musical constructions. “autoantiphon-organmachine” is the second work in the series, taking the Renaissance organ as its source medium and the modern violin (with electronics) as its target medium.
